Chester House Estate

Chester House Estate, formerly Chester Farm, is a nationally significant heritage site in North Northamptonshire. As one of the few places in the country that can demonstrate over 10,000 years of human activity, North Northamptonshire Council wanted to develop a sustainable visitor destination with access for the public.

The team at Chester House Estate came to us to rebrand the project and create a new identity that suited their new offering. They needed more than just a logo – they needed a whole system that encompassed all their initial offerings and adapt with the project.

Solution

We took the time to get to know the team at Chester House and delve into the project values and aspirations. The original Chester Farm brand needed a complete overhaul to fit with their updated offering.

Our solution was designed with this in mind, to work seamlessly across all areas of the site and create a consistent feel when applied throughout the physical site, digital presence, and marketing.

We started with the name, Chester Farm. We felt the current name didn’t offer the right perception to visitors about the services and experiences on offer. After discussing our thoughts with the team, our proposal for ‘The Chester House Estate’ was approved.

We created a modern suite of logos that defined the different areas on site, but still felt part of the overriding brand. As part of the visual identity, we developed a fresh and inviting colour palette with a set of primary colours and a set of subsidiary colours for each area of the site.

This is still a live project. To date we have designed, produced and installed many branded elements throughout the site. This includes but is not limited to – External signage including custom built aluminium planter signs which we developed to overcome strict digging rules due to the historic nature of the site; Internal fit out such as a custom visitor centre desk area; The design and print of the café/restaurant menus.

Result

With a brand toolkit including logos, colours and a set of guidelines, the Chester House team are set up for an exciting future. We look forward to continuing our partnership, helping the team roll-out the brand across all areas of the site.
