We originally designed and built the website for 1498 The Spice Affair in Peterborough, so when the restaurant wanted to refresh the site a few years later we were able to evolve the design while keeping the strong foundations already in place. The aim was to modernise the website’s look and improve the experience for customers browsing menus or ordering food online.
The refreshed design places much greater emphasis on vibrant food photography, making the dishes the focal point of the website. Menu sections were made more prominent and the collection and delivery services were clearly highlighted so customers can quickly see how to order. We also simplified the navigation structure to create a smoother user journey across both desktop and mobile devices.
Alongside these usability improvements, we refined the colours and typography to give the site a cleaner, more contemporary feel while staying true to the restaurant’s brand. The updated website continues to run on WordPress, making it easy for the client to manage content and menus.
